Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo

Welcome to Japan! After arriving, transfer by shuttle bus to the hotel.
In the late afternoon, meet your guide and take a trip on the Tokyo metro to the Shinjuku district. Experience the bustling crowds and explore this vibrant nightlife area. Enjoy dinner and return to the hotel by metro.

 

Day 2: Explore Tokyo

Join a guided 5-hour city tour to explore Tokyo’s modern districts and peaceful areas. Visit the Zojoji Temple, the Meiji Temple, and the famous Shibuya Crossing. Explore the Imperial Palace gardens and see the iconic Nijubashi Bridge. Pass through Akihabara, Tokyo’s “electric town,” and visit the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. Enjoy free time at Nakamise Street. Lunch included, with free time in the afternoon.

 

Day 3: Tokyo to Hiroshima

After breakfast, board the Bullet Train for Hiroshima. Upon arrival, visit the Peace Memorial, the Dome of the Bomb, and the Peace Museum. Take a ferry to Miyajima Island to see the stunning Itsukushima Shrine. Return to Hiroshima for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 4: Hiroshima to Matsuyama

Take a ferry to Shikoku Island, then ride a cable car up to Matsuyama Castle. Visit Ishitiji Temple, a popular pilgrimage site, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit Dogo Onsen, a historic Japanese bathhouse.

 

Day 5: Matsuyama to Kobe

Visit the Kotohira Shrine, known for its 785 steps. In Takamatsu, explore the beautiful Ritsurin Garden. Continue to Naruto to cross the impressive Naruto Bridge and experience its glass-floor observation deck. After scenic drives, arrive in Kobe for an overnight stay.

 

Day 6: Kobe to Mount Koya

Explore the Earthquake Memorial Museum in Kobe before heading to Osaka and on to Mount Koya. Visit Okuno Mausoleum and Kongobuji Temple. Stay overnight at a Buddhist monastery, where you’ll experience a Zen meditation session and a vegetarian dinner.

 

Day 7: Mount Koya to Kyoto

After breakfast, depart for Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital. Visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and the iconic Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion. Explore Gion, the traditional district of Kyoto, and enjoy free time.

 

Day 8: Kyoto to Tsumago, Matsumoto, and Nagano

Travel through scenic countryside to Tsumago, a charming village. After lunch, continue to Matsumoto to see the historic “Crow Castle.” Finish the day in Nagano for an overnight stay.

 

Day 9: Nagano to Monkey Park, Kusatsu, and Ikaho

Visit Zenko-ji Temple in Nagano and participate in the Gomakuyo ceremony. Continue to Jigokudani Monkey Park to see the famous Japanese macaques. Visit the spa town of Kusatsu, and stroll through the charming streets of Ikaho, known for its scenic staircases. Stay at a traditional Ryokan with a Japanese-style dinner.

 

Day 10: Ikaho to Nikko and Return to Tokyo

Visit the Nikko-Toshogu Temple and the Taiyuinbyo Mausoleum in Nikko. Explore the peaceful Kanmangafuchi area before returning to Tokyo. Arrive in Tokyo by evening.

Additional Information & Quick Notes

Accommodation: The itinerary includes 9 nights of accommodation in 3-4 star hotels. Rooms are based on twin/double sharing. Single room supplements may apply.

Meals: Breakfast is included daily at the hotels. Additional meals (lunches and dinners) are included as per the itinerary. Special dietary requirements or preferences should be informed in advance.

Guide: The tours are escorted by an English-speaking guide throughout the itinerary.

Transportation: All travel within Japan is by air-conditioned coach, with high-speed train transfers between Tokyo and Hiroshima, and ferries between Hiroshima and Miyajima.

Visa: A valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry into Japan is required. Visa processing is not included in the package price.

Currency: The local currency in Japan is the Japanese Yen (JPY). It is advisable to carry sufficient local currency for personal expenses. Credit cards are widely accepted in most places.

Travel Insurance: Basic travel insurance is included. However, we recommend that you purchase additional coverage for unforeseen circumstances.

Weather: The weather in Japan during the winter months (January) can be cold, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C in many areas. It is advisable to pack warm clothing.

Luggage: Ensure that your luggage complies with the airline’s baggage policy. Please carry only necessary items for the duration of the trip to avoid excess baggage fees.

Local Culture: Japan has a rich cultural heritage, and visitors are encouraged to respect local customs, including removing shoes when entering certain temples and houses, and maintaining quiet behavior in public spaces.

Health: No special vaccinations are required to visit Japan, but it is advisable to check with your healthcare provider before traveling.

Optional Tours: Any optional tours not mentioned in the inclusions will be at an additional cost and can be arranged locally with the guide.
